Terms of Service

Welcome to Xeme. By accessing or using xeme.markets (the "Service") you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Xeme is

Xeme is a play-money prediction market. Users express opinions about future events by trading with a virtual currency called mana ("Ṁ").

2. Play money — no monetary value

• Ṁ is a virtual item with no cash value. It cannot be redeemed, withdrawn, exchanged, sold, or transferred for real money or anything of real-world value.
• Purchases of Ṁ are purchases of a license to use a virtual item within the Service and are non-refundable except where required by law.
• Xeme is not a gambling service, a financial exchange, a broker, or an investment platform, and nothing on the Service is financial advice.

3. Eligibility and accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live).
• You are responsible for your account and for keeping your credentials secure.
• One account per person. Accounts created to manipulate markets, farm currency, or evade moderation may be removed.

4. Content and conduct

• You retain ownership of content you post (markets, comments) and grant Xeme a license to display and distribute it on the Service.
• Do not post content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, defamatory, or that violates others' privacy or intellectual property.
• Do not create markets about the death or serious harm of any person, or markets designed to incentivize harmful acts.
• No spam, scraping abuse, exploits, or attempts to disrupt the Service.

5. Markets and resolution

• Market creators describe resolution criteria; Xeme moderators may resolve, amend, or void markets — including ambiguous or abusive ones — at their reasonable discretion.
• Resolution decisions are final. Balances may be adjusted to correct errors, abuse, or bugs.

6. Moderation

We may remove content, hide comments, restrict features, or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or harm the Service or its users.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Xeme and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for loss of virtual currency or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $20 or the amount you paid us in the past 12 months.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the Service. Continuing to use Xeme after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
